COUNSELLING SERVICES OFFERED

Grief & Bevereament Counselling

Each of us will experience grief through bereavement or loss sometime in our life. Dealing with grief is a challenge like no other.

How can you pick up the pieces, heal the wounds, and move on without feeling like you’re betraying the memory of your loved one?  The grief experienced from a loss affects the whole person, including their mind, spirit, and body, as well as the relationships they have with other people.

Coping with grief is a difficult and complicated process, and that there’s no convenient timeline you can follow to truly “get over” your grief. If you manage your emotions to the best of your ability, get help and support, and remember to take care of yourself, you can slowly start to feel better.

Grief or loss is different for every person and a time limit cannot be put on it. Grief is an unfortunate part of life, but too much grief is not good for a person. How a person grieves will depend on:

  • their personality

  • the nature of the event that has led to the grief

  • who they can share their grief with

  • how many times they have had to deal with grief and loss

  • their physical wellbeing

  • the emotional support available to them.

.

It is frequently very helpful to talk to someone about your loss.  Someone uninvolved. Someone who is not just going to give you platitudes, and someone who has been in your shoes and really knows what it feels like.
